5 THINGS TO DO IN CINCINNATI

First time to Cincinnati?  Take a moment to read my list of 5 things to do while visiting Cincinnati.

  • Visit Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden

The Cincinnati Zoo is the second oldest zoo in the United States and the reptile house is the oldest zoo building dating from 1875.  It is located in the Avondale area of Cincinnati and has many animal exhibits including  South African cheetahs, Sumatran rhinoceros, Malayan tigers, western lowland gorillas, pottos, and Masai giraffes.

  • Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame (baseball)

The Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and Museum pays homage to the great players, managers and staff of the past teams in an exhibition of photos, displays and multimedia.  A must for all basball fans.

  • Cincinnati Music Hall

The Cincinnati Music Hall, is a classical music performance hall that serves as the home for the Cincinnati Ballet, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Opera, May Festival Chorus, and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra.  It is recognized as a National Historic Landmark by the U.S. Department of the Interior for its distinctive Venetian Gothic architecture. The building has a dual purpose – to house musical activities in its central auditorium and industrial exhibitions in its side wings.

  • American Sign Museum

The American Sign Museum  displays over 200 signs in its galleries.  There are signs from the late nineteenth century through to well known company’s neon signs.

  • John A Roebling Suspension Bridge

When it originally opened, the John A Roebling Suspension Bridge was the longest suspension bridge in the world.    Take a leisurely walk over the bridge and view Cincinnati from the Kentucky side.

Cleveland, Ohio delivers plenty of entertaining and cultural sites while still retaining its traditional mid- west appeal. There are no shortage of things to do in Cleveland as the city has diverse and charming neighborhoods, art parades, ethnic festivals, amusement parks, sporting events and plenty of restaurants which will delight your taste buds. Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historic Park

The Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historic Park pays homage to the three great aviators -Orville and Wilbur Wright and Laurence Dunbar.  The main attractions of the historic park are Huffman Prairie Flying Field, Hoover Block,  Paul Lawrence Dunbar State Memorial and The Wright Cycle Company Building.  One of the main attractions here is the First Airplane flown by the Wright Brothers – Flyer III. Toledo is a city which offers many things to explore. It has a large number of tourist attractions such as the Butterfly house, The Merry-Go-Round Museum,  Toledo Museum, Toledo Botanical garden, Toledo Zoo, Historic Westend with Old Victorian Homes.

There is small nearby island called Put-In-Bay which attracts large number of tourists in summer despite its small population. Here you may visit the Monument Of Perry Victoria and International Peace Memorial which is a Scenic park with a 352-ft.-tall column dedicated to those who fought in the Battle of Lake Erie.
