FRANKLIN PARK CONSERVATORY

Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Garden is located in Columbus.  It is an 88 acre indoor and outdoor garden featuring greenhouses with exotic plants and landscaped grounds. There are many educational classes and programs for school groups, families and people of all ages.  Some famous events which are organised every year in Franklin Park are discussed below:

Events at Franklin Park

There is a Farmers Market every week at Franklin Park, where you can buy seasonal fruit and vegetables, honey, home made sauces, oils, beef, pork, eggs and cheese. Admission to the market is free and you can also enjoy live music, kids craft classes and arts and craft.   Also on every first Sunday of the month, Live Fire Sunday is held, where live fire cooking is enjoyed with casual cooking classes.

 

Events for Children and Families at Franklin Park

There are many changing events for families at Franklin Park.  Preschool Programs are held every week for children aged 3-5 years. This free program features story-telling, tours of the park and crafts.

Koi Fish Windsocks is organised to celebrate Children Day. This amazing event is also known as Koinobori.  The Chinese Lion dance is another event which exhibits Chinese dance with a masked lion, Buddha, drummers and cymbals.

Other popular family events include Paper Fan Craft, Japanese Paper Scrolls, Origami with Ohio Paper Folders, Japanese Kimono, The Turtle Lady, Scratch Art Butterfly etc.

Events for Fundraising at Franklin Park

There are large numbers of events organised for fundraising at Franklin Park. The most famous among them include Tasting off the Terrace, where professionals and community leaders enjoy great music, food from restaurants and variety of Liquors.

The Field to Table event, organised by The Women’s Board of Conservatory host about 700 guests every time and presents garden-inspired drinks and appetizers, cocktails made of herbs and candlelit dinners.

Franklin Park Conservatory Events are an important part of the Park and they contribute much towards the development of it. These programs encourage education, horticulture and multiple gardening programs. Moreover these events are organised on a regular basis throughout the year, therefore one can plan going to any of the above events and enjoy the activities which are performed there.
