Planning a Hocking Hills Trip? This area, located outside of Columbus, offers several State Parks and Forests to visit. Get out into nature with your friends or family, or take a solo trip!
If you aren’t looking to travel far from your hotel, right in Hocking Hills is Hocking Hills State Park. The park is temporarily closed due to corona virus, but is due to open at the beginning of July. The park offers hiking and camping. This would be our recommendation to spend a day at this state park.
On your second day, you can explore another park in the surrounding areas – less than an hour away. Some of these spots to include on your hocking hills trip are:
- Lake Logan State Park – known for a great fishing spot
- Tar Hollow State Park – known for it’s variety of wildlife
- Lake Hope State Park – known
for boating, camping, and hiking

- Horseback riding
- Mountain biking
- Enjoying the peace and quiet
- Off-road driving
- Covered bridges
- A haunted railroad tunnel!!
