In the mid 1900’s, Rittman Ohio’s downtown merchants, often wearing pajamas, would keep their stores open after hours for late night travellers passing through town. Now in it’s 45th year, the Rittman Sleepwalker Festival pays tribute to the small town hospitality and unusual past.
The festival kickoff features Rittman’s annual evening parade with folks encouraged to attend in pajamas! The Sleepwalker Parade features floats, marching bands and traditionally candy is thrown by the fistful.
The 3 day event continues with food and crafts, booths by local merchants and a community wide yard sale. Other highlights include special train ride on the Rails to Trails tracks, a car show and a frog jumping contest!
